Pickleball in Anchorage, Alaska

Anchorage has year round pickleball across municipal recreation centers, private gyms, and a large network of summer outdoor courts. Spenard and Fairview offer low cost public indoor sessions. The Alaska Club provides frequent member pickup play and beginner workshops. In summer, the Anchorage Pickleball Club manages organized play at the 12 court Chester Creek complex.

Where to Play Pickleball in Anchorage

• Spenard Community Recreation Center, 2020 W. 48th Avenue. This public facility hosts indoor pickleball for ages 14 and older. New players are welcome, a $5 drop in fee applies, and participation is limited to 24 players. The center has three courts and the local club lists play on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and Saturday from 5:45 PM to 7:45 PM. • Fairview Community Recreation Center, 1121 E. 10th Avenue. Fairview provides three indoor courts with public drop in play for ages 14 and older. New players are welcome and the fee is $5. • Chester Creek Sports Complex, Bonnie Cusack Memorial Hockey Rink, 424 E. 16th Avenue. The outdoor hockey rink holds 12 seasonal pickleball courts. • The Alaska Club South, 10931 O'Malley Centre Drive. The South gym offers frequent indoor pickup sessions throughout the week, including early morning, midday, and weekend play. • Arctic Recreation Center, 4855 Arctic Boulevard. This indoor facility offers three to six courts for weekday open play, generally Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A drop in fee applies and punch cards are available. It is useful for players who want organized weekday morning games.
• O'Malley Sports Center, 11001 O'Malley Centre Drive. Indoor open play is offered Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with up to 12 courts available depending on gym use. A drop in fee applies. The center also rents gym space to groups.
• Taku Lake Park South Tennis Courts, 8200 Stormy Place. The park has four outdoor pickleball courts on shared tennis space. Bring your own net. This is a practical free option when you already have players, not a scheduled open play program.
